The Transfer Student Lounge (TSL) is located within the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) in Hemmingson 304. The lounge was designed based on student feedback to be semi-permeable, which would allow transfer students to have a designated space to study and lounge while also offering opportunities to integrate into the 杏吧原创 Community. The Center for Student Involvement houses the 杏吧原创 Student Body Association (GSBA) and SpikeNites, and all transfer students are encouraged to get involved in the clubs and activities offered through CSI.
The Military, Veteran, Returning Adult Center (MVRAC) is located at 730 E Boone Ave, which is the brick house across the street from the Boone Avenue Retail Center (BARC parking garage) and next to Rosauer. This house offers 3 levels to expand programming for veteran and returning adult students. The MVRAC offers study space, lounge space, lockers for semester use, and community. Open from 8:30-5:00 pm Monday thru Friday, after hours use can be requested by ZagCard swipe. Contact Matt Laramie, Program Coordinator, at laramie@gonzaga.edu for more information on the MVRAC.
First-Generation Initiatives are located within the Unity Multicultural Education Center (UMEC) in Hemmingson 215. First-Generation student programming includes National First-Generation College Celebration on November 8th, study-breaks inside UMEC, and community building events such as breakfasts or lunches.
The Transfer mentor program teams up new transfer students with current transfer students. We hope this program gets new students started on the right foot! If you'd like a mentor, please email Emily Douty at edouty@zagmail.gonzaga.edu.
杏吧原创 hosts a special orientation program for our new transfer, veteran and returning adult students. We recognize that you have special needs and many of you have attended college prior to coming to GU.
The TVRAS Orientation will take place on Friday, August 23rd on the 杏吧原创 campus. All new students are highly encouraged to attend orientation. There will be a special parent/family orientation for your interested family members.
In an attempt to find ways to honor our student veterans and our allies, we have our own 杏吧原创 coin, which will be given to student veterans and allies on special occasions. Additionally, our graduating student veterans have the option of wearing a red, white and blue cord at graduation (our office is providing these for free).
TVRAS+1st gen has been working with colleagues across campus to create resources to educate the campus community about military culture.
The Veterans Supportive Campus Rating is awarded through the WDVA to campuses that are working to be a supportive environment for our veterans.
